QuerID is built around two things you already understand: a device and a subscription.

You need a phone or tablet that can take a photo and read an NFC chip. That is it. Buy the hardware you want — a duty phone, a counter tablet, or a dedicated scanner station. Then subscribe to QuerID.

We handle the rest: the app, mDL decryption, verification workflow, updates, and support. No extra stack to assemble. No surprise middleware.

Name
Number of users is different than the number of devices. The app can be installed on any phone with NFC and Camera abilities. It is normal to have less number of devices than users.
If you don't plan to use a phone you will need a device to scan the mDL. These devices are very much like cell phones. A device either these or your cell phone is required to read the mDL. It is normal to have more users than devices unless your plan is to provide a device for every user.
